So excited to have my books translated into Spanish! With a high population of Spanish speaking parents in Las Vegas and around the counrty, I am hoping this will fill a need. Regardless of what language a child speaks, their first language is the foundation from which all language and reading skills are developed. Parents are their child’s first teacher. Talking and reading to your child regularly in your native language builds a better foundation for overall language and literacy development. I often have parents ask me if they should be speaking Spanish to their children at home. My answer is always, “Absolutely!” If a child does not have a firm grasp on either language, that might carry-over to language problems and/or reading problems. I regularly tell the parents of my students, “A good foundation in Spanish is a good foundation for English.”
